Yes, I know it’s halfway through June, but if you missed any of my May columns on Critical Hit here’s a summary of each one you might have missed.
Let’s Make Money focused on throwing ideas out there for alternative methods of making money. Whether they would actually work or not remains to be seen, but at least we’re trying to work the system to benefit the consumer instead of punishing them.
The Miserable Sandbox explores my strong dislike of sandbox games and how, traditionally, they tend to feature broken mechanics that just aren’t as fun as more limited and yet refined games.
Dark Voids in the Head is a strong example of why Usability Testing can be so important. There are many key moments in Dark Void that could have made it a pretty decent game, but unfortunately the game just isn’t user friendly enough.
