Eh! Steve! What Did You Think of Rogue One?
I might write up a separate post on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as there’s a lot I actually enjoyed about it, but some greater matters to consider in terms of the impact of reshoots. While Rogue One certainly handled its reshoots better than, say, Suicide Squad, I still feel as if it impacted the film and attempted to approach these changes in a modular fashion when a film’s narrative, when done properly, is anything but modular.
Steve and I need to work on our “ums” and gaps of silence when speaking. It may convey that we’re trying to think about what we’re saying, but I feel like it could make it harder to actually listen to us. At the same time, I could just be too critical of the conversation, listening in again so worried that every second spoken is not spent captivating the listener with silver tongues. As we continue to record we’ll no doubt become more comfortable and used to speaking to each other this way, but we’re also clearly speaking out of a series of habits that we’d do best to try and actively break.
Whatever your thoughts, be it our speech patterns or your own feelings on Rogue One, feel free to share them in the comments below, comment on the Facebook page or e-mail ramblepak64 at gmail dot com.
