This is an example of an episode where I thought I had a clear idea of its direction when we started, but turned out to just have a jumble of ideas once we began talking. I think a lot of interesting stuff came out of this episode, but ultimately I’d like to revisit the topic again in regards to how our own personalities determine our response to violence, and how mechanics change that response. There’s a lot there that determines which random bits of code and logic we empathize with and which bits and bytes are disposable, and it would be fascinating to get the thoughts of other players on such a matter.
