Special guest Sean “Elysium” Sands joins Gerry and I to discuss the growing role of YouTube and Let’s Plays in the games media space. Naturally, both as a frequent consumer of YouTube content as well as being a content provider, this is a topic that I’ve thought about often. It was nice to have Sands and Gerry around to help me get out of my head and consider other matters, however.

While we certainly discussed a lot, there’s certainly plenty more to be spoken of on this topic. Nintendo using services such as YouTube to completely bypass traditional games press, for example, or how the growing culture of Twitch has inspired indie game Upsilon Circuit developed by Robot Loves Kitty. So, like the topic of Japanese games developers and culture, expect this to be a topic we return to at a later time.

You can find more of Gerry’s work over at Geek Bravado.

You can read Sean and other authors’ thoughts on games (including yours truly) at at GamersWithJobs.

Listen to more video game and pop culture inspired metal over on Arm Cannon’s official website.
